You might have been asked this question quite a few times. And you might have asked this question quite a few times.
People often ask such stupid questions. Obviously everyone has looked at themselves. Right?
What if I tell you, “You are WRONG”! What if I tell you, you have never really looked at yourself? What if I tell you, you will never be able to look at yourself? Weird. Right?
Well, life is weird!
Every time you looked at yourself in the mirror, you were looking at a reflection, something that wasn’t real. A reflection of your past self.
Say, if your mirror was 1 feet away from you, you were looking at yourself, 0.00000000101 seconds in the past.
No matter how close you get to the mirror, you will never be able to look at yourself in real time. And that’s just fascinating.
All those selfies, all those hours spent in front of the mirror, and still not being able to look at yourself in the present!
How can you? How can one look at themselves? Is it even possible?
P.S. I wonder if there is any such thing as ‘Real’! I wonder, if you wonder…

This is intriguing, never heard of it that looking in the mirror is looking at a past reflection. But yes is anything real at all?

I guess it’s very important to have self reflection once in a while. Being honest to your own self helps clearing confusions of mind. I have been practising this, to some extent getting benefitted too 😊😊😊

Why would you get into the philosophical side of it?
All I wrote was, “you can never look at yourself in the present”.
Why bring all the self-reflection and stuff in between?

It’s just my feeling, the moment I look into mirror. You are right about your view !!! I agreed totally.

That’s so weird to think about it in this way. I suppose to look at yourself in the present is about “doing” and moving forward rather than thinking and reflecting (in the mirror) on yourself. Though self reflection is also important.

The mirror must have been an important invention. But even the nature of reflection is misleading. As for your point about time, I’m glad you raised it. It’s new knowledge for me for which I’m thankful.
